Clecs Access in BSL

Clecs Media has a dedicated team that produces and designs with disability and additional support media production in mind. In addition to production, our team is used by public organisations such as National and local government and the NHS to translate and interpret traditional texts for BSL media delivery. Our team consulted and created the media output of the Accessible Information Standard (Wales).

We will get you online? how you want to be!

British Sign Language

Whether translating a policy document, conducting a strategy review, or providing a BSL overlay for existing videos, Clecs Media has a professional production department dedicated to delivering bespoke production for those who need additional access.

In terms of our British Sign Language (BSL) and Deaf support output, we work with the National Registers of Communication Professionals working with Deaf and DeafBlind People (NRCPD) translators and interpreters to facilitate the communication needs from you to the Deaf community. We can also produce in Welsh Sign Language or Iaith Arwyddion Cymraeg (IAC), Makaton, and SSE (Sign Supported English).

We also work with dedicated BSL communication Support workers to provide BSL content for service delivery, which provides BSL information directly from those providing wider services in BSL.

Audio Description

Audio description, ‘described video’, adds an additional narration audio track, which is there to give blind, DeafBlind, or those with vision-associated sensory loss full access to visual content. The narration includes descriptions of characters, locations, facial expressions, actions, and graphics. Audio description is the primary form of access for people who are blind or have a severe vision associated sensory loss.

Consultancy and Education

We regularly produce English and Welsh narration. Narration and narration in multiple languages can give your brand greater cultural range.

Pictures paint a thousand words and can support people with literacy needs. If your source relies on visuals alongside written information, we can ensure that it sits alongside BSL, for example.

Subtitles and Closed Captions help you remain compliant in terms of accessibility. They allow your content to reach a greater audience and create access for Deaf and hard-of-hearing people.

We can assist you in becoming much more aware and able to provide your services for people with sensory loss and additional support needs.
